SANTA FE TRAVEL DIARY

Hi Everyone! I recently traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico and went skiing at Ski Santa Fe for Valentines! It was so fun getting to celebrate V-Day with family and my boyfriend. Ski Santa Fe is the perfect ski destination if you’re still learning to ski or snowboard.  They have a good amount of easy and hard trails for every type of skier. I can’t wait to go back! Keep reading to see what else we did, where we stayed and where we ate at!  Santa Fe is definitely different than Texas but oh so pretty!

WHERE WE STAYED

We rented a house through Two Casitas. I found them on Airbnb. The house was a super cute pueblo style home; in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood! Everything was clean, stylish and had every amenity to cook dinners. I also loved the views on the patio, it was the perfect spot to relax with wine. The views of the mountains were amazing. They also provided firewood which was so nice!

WHAT WE DID

Ski Santa Fe – We went skiing two days at Ski Santa Fe. I dressed in TOO many layers. Lol I was seriously about to have a panic attack because I was so hot. Lol You want to dress in layers because you never know how cold or hot it will be on the mountain.

We also hung out in the bar area. It was so cute! They have so many boozy aprés ski drinks. It was the perfect place to hangout after a long day of skiing. The frito pie was also pretty amazing! I can never say no to a frito pie. Lol. S/O to Totemoff’s, the bar is so fun and on weekends they have a live band.

If you live in Texas and decide to go skiing, but don’t want to drive all the way up to Colorado then I highly recommend Santa Fe! It took 9 hours from Fort Worth. The drive was pretty nice! Everything was easy to travel too, and the slopes were perfect for us! The atmosphere is fun, and we met so many nice families! So many little kids were taking lessons with their parents. It was so cute!

Tesuque Casino – while we were in Santa Fe we checked out this casino and it was so fun! Super clean, nice slot machines and some of my family members even won some MOOOLAH! Going to a casino is definitely an experience that everyone should experience! The staff was nice, and I love how every casino has free self-serve drinks. Everything was clean, and wasn’t gross! Haha The smoke wasn’t that bad either.. I just can’t last longer than two hours in there.  It was a good size casino, I would definitely go back!

Santa Fe Plaza – it’s always fun walking around the plaza! There’s so many cute, handmade shops, and the locals and natives sell their handmade clay pots and jewelry on the weekends. There’s also a lot of restaurants in the area.

WHERE WE ATE

El Chile Toreado – a super good food truck stand! The tacos were cheap and so good! I highly recommend.

Rooftop Pizzeria – we shared pizza and ordered sangria. The pizzas were really good. They are considered thin crust gourmet pizzas. We sat on the rooftop patio and had a nice view of the plaza.

Rooftop Pizzeria, don’t let my smirk fool you! lol it was good.

Totomoff’s – the bar at Ski Santa Fe. They have fun music playing and serve apres drinks and food. The FRITO PIE is the best.

La Boca Santa Fe – super cute restaurant for a date night! Brennan took me here for dinner on Valentines. The menu has shareable tapas. We ordered 5 different things they were all so good! We ordered goat cheese, paella, mushroom coca, (looks like a flatbread pizza) everything was so good!! In my opinion the sangria was kind of tarte and wish I would have ordered wine instead. Overall, it was a great experience! Everything is Santa Fe is so small! Be prepared to overhear other peoples conversations. Lol

So tart!

Cafe Pasqual’s – this place is so popular! We ate breakfast here and it was soo good! It was like eating healthy Mexican food. Haha, I didn’t feel bloated or gross after eating. All their food is organic. See pics below! They don’t open till 8AM, but I advise getting there early so you don’t have to wait on a table! The restaurant is small with only a few tables. The place is very cute, and is so “Santa Fe” The vibes were so fun! They also serve lunch and dinner, and I would love to go back just to try something different.
